Ameer-ul-Momineen Abu Bakr As-Siddique (radi Allahu anhu) says:
 
"Whosoever spends one dirham ($) on the birthday (Moulood) of the Prophet (sallallaaho alaihi wa aaleh), he will be with me in Jannah (Heaven)."

We are in the first auspicious days of Rabi ul Awwal. Around the Globe this Islamic Heritage Day is a Public/National Holiday in 48 Countries. This year Mawlid un Nabi will be on Feb 27th, 2010 corresponding to 12th of Rabi ul Awwal.

AFRICA: Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Ivory Cost, Libya, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Togo, (In Africa, a total 25 countries out of 54)

MIDDLE EAST: Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestinian National Authority, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Yemen (11 out of total 14 except Israel, Qatar, Saudi Arabia)

In an Authentic Narration of Bukhari and Muslim: The Prophet of Islam (sallu alihi wa aaleh) declares, None of you shall be believers until I become more beloved to him than his children, his parents and all mankind', and in a further narration: '...than his life and his possessions and his family!

A narration from Sahih Muslim: The Holy Prophet (sallu alihi wa aaleh) was asked about the fasting on Mondays which he observed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) answered: It is the day I was born and it is the day revelation first descended upon me.
