mempertimbangkan juga kemarahan masyarakat akan praktek nikah ini.

Angry residents act to cancel unofficial marriage

INDONESIA: The much-awaited law that bans unregistered marriages has
not come into effect, but that has not prevented dozens in Pilangasari
village in the East Java regency of Pasuruan from acting against the
practice.
The people strove to prevent Utami, a widow with two children, from
tying the knot with Pardi as an unregistered marriage, permissible
under Islam, Antara reported on Saturday.
Pardi arrived along with cleric Suud who oversaw his marriage when
residents pelted stones at Utami's house Friday evening. The attack
forced the couple to postpone their wedding vows.
Village official Solehan said the residents had agreed to formalize a
ban on unregistered marriage in a village regulation, imposing a Rp
2.5 million (US$250) fine on offenders.
He said the local people were also angry with Suud, who had previously
arranged an unofficial marriage for a teenage couple. - JP
