AFPTripoli - Mantan pemimpin Libya Muammar Khadafi telah meninggal. Sebelum berpulang, Khadafi sempat menuliskan surat wasiatnya.

Gaddafi's will turns up asking for burial in Sirte

MISRATA: An embarrassing confusion over what to do with Muammar Gaddafi's body has emerged with the discovery of a will appearing to indicate that the dictator's final wish was to be buried in Sirte. Libya's new leaders have been unable to agree on how to dispose of the remains, six days after he was captured by rebel fighters. The dithering has undermined celebrations in Benghazi this week. Meanwhile, a human rights groups says it has discovered 53 decomposing bodies, apparently of Gaddafi loyalists, some of whom may have been executed by revolutionary forces.

Advertisement: Story continues belowThe New York-based Human Rights Watch said yesterday that the discovery in Gaddafi's home town of Sirte ''seems part of a trend of killings, looting and other abuses committed by anti-Gaddafi fighters who consider themselves above the law''.The group urged Libyan authorities to rein in armed groups. Gaddafi's will appeared on his website, Seven Day News, on Sunday. In it he expresses the desire to be buried next to his ''family and friends'' in Sirte.

The will copy was one of three entrusted to relatives; one of them was killed, the second arrested and the third escaped, according to reports.

The former dictator's remains have been on public display in Misrata for the past four days - lying in a meat cooler alongside those of his son Mutassim and his former defence minister Abu Bakr Younis. A growing throng of at least several thousand have gathered each day for a chance to see the ignominious end of a tyrant, with guards linking arms to hold back the surging crowd.

Many of those queuing to see Gaddafi's corpse said they wanted to see for themselves that the former dictator was actually dead.

In his testament Gaddafi urges supporters to go on resisting. He alludes to choosing to fight and die in Libya rather than pick the easier but, in his view, dishonourable route of exile abroad.'The document says: ''This is my will … I would like that my family, especially women and children, be treated well after my death. The Libyan people should protect its identity, achievements, history and the honourable image of its ancestors …''

Let the free people of the world know that we could have bargained over and sold out our cause in return for a personal secure and stable life. We received many offers but we chose to be at the vanguard of the confrontation as a badge of duty and honour.''
