Pernah terjadi peperangan besar antara Suni (Irak) dan Iran (Shia) 1980 –1988. Ratusan ribu bahwa mungkin lebih dari 1 juta manusia mati. Sampai sekarang masih saja terjadi serang menyerang, tetapi dalam skala kecil-kecilan yaitu membom mesjid, sekolah atau orang lagi berkumpul, bisa dilihat contohnya di Pakistan kaum Shia disikat oleh Suni, begitupun di Irak saling bom-membom setelah runtuhnya pemerintahan Saddam Husein.
Di Indonesia pun sudah mulai kaum Shia disikat, kejadian di Madura beberapa bulan lalu membuktikan hal tsb. Sebahagian penganut aliran Shia di Madura terpaksa lari menyelematkan diri ke Surabaya. Jadi di Indonesia bukan hanya Ahmadiyah yang dimusuhi, tetapi juga Shia.
Saya kira antara Protestan dan Katholik tidak sehebat pertantangan Shia dan Suni, Apa yang terjadi di Irland utara ialah pertentangan kaum unionist (pro London) yang kebetulan beragama aliran Protestan sedangkan dan - pro Dublin (Irland), yang kebetulan beraliran Katholik. Pro Dublin maksudnya supaya Irland Utara kembali menjadi wilayah Irland. Irland Republik Army (IRA), grup bersenjata yang memperjuangkan pengabungan Irland Utara ke Republik Iran. Mereka ini mendapat bantuan bukan saja dari orang-orang Irland di USA yang tiap tahun kumpul jutaan dollar, tetapi juga banyak bantuan dari Kolonel Muamamar Qaddafi (Libya).

antara Sunni dan syiah kalau terjadi perang besar..
Tapi Insya ALLAH Amerika akan berusaha keras agar kedua kubu besar
ini tidak terjadi peperangan besar.....
Seperti umat Katolik dan Protestan dulunya...
